Yoshirt, a product customization engine, announced the launch of an apparel and technology app that lets users design and purchase unique clothing. Using the iOS compatible app, customers can use photos and Yoshirt supplied graphics, background, text and patterns to make one-of-a-kind apparel.
Using the Yoshirt platform, partnering brands can offer customization to existing customers, reported the Sourcing Journal. Already on board is lifestyle apparel brand NEFF, starting with a range of shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops and socks.
"I'm excited to be launching the Yoshirt brand and technology platform. We've been developing and testing for some time and are really happy with what we're able to offer our customers and brand partners," said Franky Aguilar, founder and president of Yoshirt. "We're looking forward to building the business for our anxious customers and great partners like NEFF."
Aguilar is no stranger to app design, as he is responsible for Catwang, Snoopify and 40 other apps, which cumulatively account for more than 10 million downloads.
More and more apparel retailers are starting to embrace mobile as an important platform for increasing customer engagement and easing product purchases. For example, earlier this month, Macy's (NYSE:M) unveiled a new app that allows customers to snap photos of outfits they like, upload them, and have the same items or something similar made available immediately for purchase.
