Yellow Box Footwear opens in California

Yellow Box Footwear, a division of DSW (NYSE:DSW), opened the retailer's first concept store in California last week.

Yellow Box is a women's footwear wholesaler most recognized for its jeweled sandals. Although sold on shelves since 1998, the brand opened its first retail store in June in Miami.

The store in the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park will be followed by the opening of another Southern California store in the Westfield Sherman Oaks shopping center in September.

"We are very excited to debut our first Yellow Box Footwear store in southern California, " said Christopher Lanning, Affiliated Business Group's senior VP and general manager. Yellow Box is a proven women's footwear brand with a strong positioning in the marketplace. Customers will have a great opportunity to experience Yellow Box's unique brand of fun and fashion in an incredible retail setting."

The Affiliated Business Group is a division of DSW that patterns with multi-category retailers and wholesale companies in the development of business strategies.

DSW has expanded its omnichannel presence in the past year. In June, the retailer announced a partnership with eBay to offer in-store pickup on orders. The brand also announced it would open as many as 550 new stores, including 35 to open in fiscal 2014.
