Walmart launches Black Friday 'Spring Edition'

Walmart (NYSE: WMT) is bringing the discounts and potential mayhem typical of Black Friday to spring. On Friday, Walmart is slashing prices and debuting deeper offerings in its outdoor living and lawn and garden segments just in time for spring and summer home improvement projects. It's a tactic home improvement retailers, including The Home Depot (NYSE: HD) have been using for years to drive traffic during this retail channel's busiest season.

For the spring kickoff, which ends March 29, Walmart will offer 30 to 50 percent discounts on lawnmowers, patio furniture, charcoal grills and flowers. It will also match competitors' prices at the register. Story
