Walmart creates new leadership positions for produce and meat

Walmart is reportedly creating new leadership positions for produce and meat as it tries to build on its organic grocery offerings.

The retail giant will make a new position in charge of long-term sourcing strategy for meat, to be filled by senior VP of produce, meat, seafood and quality control for Walmart U.S. Scott Neal. According to a memo obtained by Bloomberg, Neal will be responsible for ensuring a sustainable approach to providing quality grocery products.

The memo also indicated that Shawn Baldwin, currently senior VP of the retailer's Sam's Club warehouse division, will become senior VP of fresh for Walmart U.S. starting Jan. 5, while Jack Pestello, a VP in the international unit, will become senior VP of private brands for Walmart U.S. Story
