Walgreens launches program to combat prescription drug abuse

Walgreens has undertaken an initiative to fight prescription drug abuse with programs to help curb medication misuse. First, the brand will launch a safe medication disposal program by installing kiosks in more than 500 stores. Second, the store will make naloxone, an overdose antidote that reduces drug effects, available over the counter without a prescription in 35 states and the District of Columbia. Story
