Visa stays focused on contactless payments

Devices that support biometric payments are on the rise — Apple's iOS and now Samsung's Galaxy S5 promise to read finger prints — but ubiquitous acceptance could be a long ways off.

The focus at Visa is on contactless, NFC payments. "Smartphones equipped with fingerprint scanners are definitely useful," Jon White, Visa's head of marketing, mobile strategic alliances told Gizmodo. "There are all kinds of technologies that we are seeing, and a lot of innovation in this space. We're working with these technologies, and they are all very interesting." Story
