Similar to Starbucks' (NASDAQ:SBUX) announcement last year that it is providing wireless charging stations in its stores, McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) is providing wireless charging at 50 of its restaurants in the U.K.
After completing a successful pilot in several of its stores in the U.K., the chain has teamed up with wireless charging solution Aircharge to place 600 chargers in more than 50 restaurants. "Free WiFi and wireless charging will soon be ubiquitous, expected by consumers with other players like Starbucks getting on board," Puneet Mehta, CEO of Mobile ROI, told Mobile Commerce Daily.
