Is Ubuntu OS-Based Smartphone Actually Going To Happen?

The arrival of the first Ubuntu OS-based smartphone took one step closer today with the formation of the Ubuntu Carrier Advisory Group–a collection of operators around the world that want a say in the ongoing development of the Ubuntu smartphone OS, according to a report on The Next Web. Even though Ubuntu outlined its plans more than six months ago, little has happened. With this group's creation, though, the story said: "We can at least rest assured that the industry is considering the possibility of rolling out Ubuntu smartphones at some point in the future." Not especially comforting, but it's much more optimistic than others have been in recent months. Story
