Tesco Embraces Coin-Counting Self-Service Kiosks

Tesco, the huge UK supermarket chain, has signed a deal with Coinstar to allow consumers to pour in loose change and then use that amount--minus "a nominal fee"--for store products.

The initial payment move will be in about 300 Tesco stores. The move gives Coinstar a metal-counting lock on the four largest supermarket chains in the UK: Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Morrisons.
