Target launches another designer collection

Target (NYSE:TGT) has partnered up with Superga to make a version of the iconic Italian sneaker for half the price of the original.

Available on Target.com starting this week, the Superga Low Top Sneaker sneaker is available for $29.99. Originally, the brand sells the 2750 Cotu Classic version of the sneaker for $65, reported Racked. While the sole and stitching are slightly different, they strike a close resemblance.

The sneakers will hit Target stores on June 26 although the entire collection is already on the website.

Superga joins the growing list of designer collaborations at Target. Trying to rebuild the brand's name in the fashion world, Target CEO Brian Cornell has been rapidly releasing new collections. This spring, the big-box retailer announced a partnership with Finnish design house Marimekko, and last spring Target launched the Lilly Pulitzer collection, which saw demand so heavy that items sold out online within hours and even faster in stores.
