Target adds former P&G president to board

Target appointed Melanie Healey, a former North America group president of Procter & Gamble, to its board of directors, effective immediately.

Healey was with P&G for more than 25 years, working in Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela and the United States. She has held several leadership roles, including group president and advisor to the chairman and CEO from January to July of 2015 and group president of North America from 2009 to the end of 2014.

"Mel brings to Target's board more than 30 years of CPG experience and a passion for improving the lives of consumers around the world," said Brian Cornell, chairman and CEO of Target. "She has a track record of delivering growth, driving operational improvements and launching successful product innovations for globally recognized brands.

"She also has a history of building wellness brands, which will provide an important perspective as Target continues to elevate wellness as one of our signature categories."

At P&G, Healey worked in marketing as well as in the health and personal care businesses, serving as group president of global feminine and health care. Earlier in her career, she held various positions at S.C. Johnson and Johnson & Johnson. Press Release
