Struggling HTC May be Given Hand up by Amazon

Sources close to Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) and Taiwan-based smartphone pioneer HTC Corp. (2498:TT) say the two companies are in talks to develop a handset for use with Amazon Prime. This would mean a shift in the mobile entertainment viewing market away from devices such as the iPad and Kindle. Plus, the deal could mean a return to relevance for HTC, which has been suffering in a market dominated by Apple (NASDAQ: APPL) and Samsung (OTC US: SSNLF).  Story
