In-store crucial to Walmart's online success

Walmart's U.S. CEO Greg Foran says one of the keys to the retailer's online success is that 90 percent of all U.S. citizens live within 10 miles of one of 4,500 Walmart stores. With more consumers purchasing online, picking up in-store, and browsing the Web while shopping at brick-and-mortars, Walmart would stand to benefit from using physical locations to enhance its online experience. Foran notes that making buying online and picking up in-store easier and less expensive than e-commerce retailers such as Amazon will give Walmart the competitive edge it wants. Story
