Like other retailers, Urban Outfitters is counting on increased m-commerce revenue this holiday season. That is why the apparel retailer recently overhauled its app. It added Urban On, a rewards program, 2D barcode scanning, and the ability to listen to the retailer's dedicated radio station. "The timing is no accident. Frankly, we wish we could have gotten it out a month earlier, so downloads would have been higher as we got to the critical weeks in the holiday season," Jim Davis, director of web and customer analytics for Urban Outfitters, told Ad Age.
