Sports Authority Appoints Ron Stoupa as Chief Marketing Officer

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sports Authority, one of the largest full-line sporting goods retailers in the United States and Puerto Rico, today announced that Ron Stoupa has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. In his new role, Mr. Stoupa will be responsible for leading the strategic development and oversight of the company's marketing plans to further build the Sports Authority brand.

Prior to joining Sports Authority, Mr. Stoupa served as Chief Marketing Officer at Pep Boys, an auto parts and service retailer with more than 800 locations nationwide. In this role, he oversaw the repositioning of a brand that had been in place more than 90 years, and led all aspects of marketing, including strategy, CRM and creative. Prior to his time at Pep Boys, Mr. Stoupa held marketing positions at well-known organizations, such as Bass Pro Shops and Black & Decker.
