Sophia Amoruso Names Sheree Waterson as Chief Executive at Nasty Gal

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Nasty Gal, the millennial fashion and style authority, announced today that Sheree Waterson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Amoruso will continue, as Founder and Executive Chairman, to oversee the Creative and Brand Marketing functions of the business, providing leadership on Nasty Gal's voice, vision, and customer experience both on and offline.

Since joining Nasty Gal in early 2014 as President and Chief Product Officer, Waterson has overseen the merchandising, design, planning, and production functions of the company, successfully improving Nasty Gal's assortment and playing an integral role in opening the brand's first store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. In her new role as CEO, she will be partnering with Amoruso, Founder and Executive Chairman, to evolve Nasty Gal into a dominant retail presence. With this appointment, Waterson has also joined the Nasty Gal board of directors.

Waterson has served as Nasty Gal's President and Chief Product Officer since February of 2014. Prior to Nasty Gal, she served as Lululemon's Executive Vice President, Chief Product Officer from June 2008 to April 2013 and as President of Speedo North America, a Warnaco, Inc. brand, from January 2005 to June 2007. She was also Vice President of Merchandising, Women's, for Levi Strauss & Co., from 2002 to 2004, when she spearheaded initial work on new women's speed-to-market and profitability.
