Singles Day fails to catch on in the US

Alibaba may have made record sales on Singles Day, but the event failed to set any records in the United States despite efforts by retailers, including Walmart, to piggyback promotions.

Singles Day is projected to be the 22nd largest online shopping day of the year, according to the Adobe Digital Index. Still the event is growing—total Singles Day spend in the United States is forecasted to hit $1.4 billion, representing 14 percent growth year over year. Story
