Simon and eBay debut the Connected Mall

Simon and eBay are partnering to create an interactive mall with a "smart" directory, point-to-point navigation and personalized offers and deals. The Connected Mall pilot program at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California, is meant to provide an interactive and personal shopping experience.

There's a 72-inch, HD touchscreen; 3D mall maps available with shopper orientation; an option to browse events, services, deals; a best-route map when a location is selected; a way to send directions to shoppers' mobile phones; deals of the day; and accessibility features.

"EBay is revolutionizing shopping by bringing the best of digital technologies into the physical world," said Steve Yankovich, VP of innovation and new ventures, eBay. Story
