ShopRite has announced a partnership with Johnson & Johnson to open a Diabetes Center. In keeping with the company's Live Right initiative, the center, in its Flemington, New Jersey, location, includes total body care from nutrition management to medication.
The Diabetes Center, which opened on Feb. 25, has more than 100 items across seven categories, reported DrugStoreNews. It is located next to the pharmacy and the dietitian's office so that health professionals are easily accessible.
ShopRite plans to expand the Diabetes Center into other stores in the near future. Flemington was chosen as the first location due to its thriving health and wellness program.
In addition to products being sold in the Center, consumers can pick up brochures and/or an on-site tablet that links directly to ShopRite.com/diabetes for more information.
Striving to make waves in the health and wellness category, last summer ShopRite opened a retail shop for the community at its first pharmacy location inside of a medical facility at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
ShopRite has tried to stay on the cutting edge when it comes to new programs and customer offerings from the grocery store chain. For example, last year the company introduced a new mobile app that allows shoppers to ring up their items directly from their cellphone.
