Sears Revamps Appliance Stores To Improve Customer Experience

Sears Home Appliance Showrooms, a specialty chain division of Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD), is unveiling an entirely new look. The stores are being redesigned to offer more space to key lines such as built-in cooking, cooktops, laundry machines, and dishwashers, and offer a better customer experience just in time for the holiday shopping season.

"With our new showroom model, we're not increasing the size of our sales floors, but rather, better utilizing our floor space to expand our merchandise offerings and showcase our products. This, in turn, will help our dedicated sales force provide customers with a higher level of service," said Susan Hilsenbeck, division vice president of merchandising at Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. reports Globe News Wire. To celebrate the remodeled stores, Sears Home Appliance Showrooms will promote a nationwide event this weekend, Oct. 25-26.

Sears also has reason to celebrate a new mobile milestone. A new study shows that for the month of September, Sears' mobile site produced the fastest response time across all service providers. The average load time for Sears on an iPhone was 2.63 seconds. The news comes on the heels of several new mobile experiences Sears has rolled out, including mweb and upgraded shopping apps.
