Sears Holdings has begun rolling out Connected Solutions shops to 200 Sears and 300 Kmart stores nationally as the Internet of Things (IoT) gains ground with consumers. A larger home demonstration and display is also in the works for a single store in San Bruno, California.
The program is an extension of Sears' initial trial in the Chicago area. The 2,000-square-foot shops within the stores feature live displays of more than 100 wireless products including wearables, locks, garage door openers, thermostats, motion sensors and monitor. The larger, 3,900-square-foot display in the San Bruno store is expected to debut by midyear. Story
