Sam Edelman to open Beverly Hills flagship

Shoe and apparel brand Sam Edelman is setting up a flagship in Beverly Hills. The retailer will open up the 3,500-sq.-ft. space at 342 North Beverly Drive this fall.

The store concept was designed to capture the essence of the Sam Girl—characterized as whimsical, sexy and stylish. The design, created by Dagnell Folger of Architecture + Information, mixes raw and refined through reclaimed wood and concrete, rose colored brass and black leather.

The brand's signature shade of green will give the space color, and the vintage furnishings, including a specially designed shoe chandelier, will be curated by Sam Edelman himself.

The store will include footwear, handbags, jewelry and apparel—a recent addition to the Sam Edelman brand. The company's buildout in 2012 featured the launch of an outerwear collection, a flagship store in Soho, and the debut of the juniors' line Circus.

"With the launch of our apparel collection and our LA flagship, we can now dress our Sam Girls from toe to head, coast to coast," said Sam Edelman, designer, founder and division president for the Sam Edelman division of Brown Shoe Company.

Beverly Hills has become a popular spot for opening brand flagships this year. Last week, Dsquared2 opened its first U.S. store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. And just a short ways down the famous street, Coach (NYSE: COH) is getting a makeover and preparing for the reopening of its 3,909-sq.-ft. flagship.
