Ross Stores hires CMO for dd's Discounts

Ross Stores hired Brian Morrow as president and chief merchandising officer of the dd's Discounts format, effective Dec. 7. He will report directly to Barbara Rentler, CEO of Ross Stores.

The company has been scouting out a new CMO since January 2015 when dd's Discounts former president and CMO Doug Baker announced his departure.

Morrow joins Ross from Stein Mart, where he was president and CMO since April 2014, responsible for all buying, planning and allocation, marketing, and e-commerce initiatives. He first joined Stein Mart in 2010 as exec-VP and CMO.

"We are delighted to have Brian join our senior management team," Rentler said. "We are confident that his proven business acumen and broad-based merchandising management experience will be valuable resources in driving the successful long-term growth of dd's Discounts."

Morrow has more than 30 years of experience in merchandising leadership, including previous positions at Macy's West, Macy's North/Marshall Field's, Mervyns and May Company.

Rentler was named CEO of Ross Stores in May 2014 after serving as CMO since December 2009. Press Release
