Retailers settle false labeling charges

JCPenney, Bed Bath & Beyond, Nordstrom and Backcountry.com have agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle U.S. civil charges of false labeling. The retailers were accused of advertising that products were made with bamboo when they were actually made with rayon, a practice the FTC called misleading. All had been asked by the FTC to stop the practice prior to the charges being filed. Story
