Retailers prepare to bid on purchase of Kate Spade

Six possible bidders, mostly retailers, have shown interest in purchasing Kate Spade & Co at the handbag maker's sale this month. The retailer is working with financial advisers after struggling to recover from the last recession. Although sales have gone back up, the brand's luxury image is tarnished and no longer able to charge full price. (Bloomberg)
