Albertsons names new VP, COO

Susan Morris has been named executive VP and COO of Albertons Companies, replacing President and COO Wayne Denningham, who plans to retire at the fiscal end of the year. Morris has a long career history with Albertsons, beginning in high school and spanning divisions such as marketing, sales and head of the Denver division. Release

BJ's announces opportunities for laid-off Sam's Club workers

Walmart to cut 1,000 at corporate

Walmart is planning to cut 1,000 jobs at its corporate office, a process that will be completed by Jan. 31. The news comes just a day after the company announced it would be boosting its minimum wage and offering better maternity and paternity leave options. CNBC article

BJs CEO to chair NRF

BJ's Wholesale Club President Christopher Baldwin has been elected chairman of the National Retail Federation Board of Directors. In addition, eight other retailers have been elected as new members of the board. Release
