RadioShack has named Dene Rogers president and CEO, focused on positioning RadioShack's omnichannel platform for long-term growth.
Rogers previously served as CEO of Target Australia and CEO of Sears Canada. His new position will be effective May 9, and he will also join RadioShack's board of directors.

"Dene shares our commitment to RadioShack's legacy as the nation's leading neighborhood electronics convenience store and has an impressive vision for how to expand the business into other segments of the market across a variety of platforms."

I am privileged to lead the team who is working to improve RadioShack's existing operations and expand its online presence," said Rogers. "Together, we will re-invent RadioShack's business model to create a dynamic growth company."
The RadioShack brand was acquired by General Wireless in May after filing for bankruptcy in February 2015. Ron Garriques helmed the new company for less than a year after taking over from CEO Joe Magnacca, who recently joined Massage Envy as its CEO.
Since then, roughly 1,400 RadioShack stores were cobranded as Sprint locations as General Wireless has focused on growing through partnerships. In December, celebrity Nick Cannon came on as the company's chief creative officer.
