Online spending is slowing

It's true that shopper spending habits have changed, but today's consumer isn't spending less. She's just spending differently, according to Sarah Quinlan, senior VP of market insights at MasterCard Advisors.

One bright note for retailers, however, is an apparent slowdown in the shift to online shopping. According to Quinlan, e-commerce sales were growing at as much as 15 percent annually a few years ago, but have decelerated to below 10 percent. Story
