Nordstrom taking its time in Canada

Nordstrom is trying to learn a lesson from the collapse of Target Canada. The department store chain is taking its Canadian expansion slow and not opening too many locations before making great strides in sales. Nordstrom hopes to begin turning a profit in Canadian stores as soon as this year, working towards generating $1 billion in sales. Target Canada launched dozens of stores at one time in 2013, scaling up to 120 within months. Nordstrom will open its third location in Vancouver next month, three years after the Canada expansion plans were first announced in 2012. Story
