Meijer hires first CEO outside the family

Rick Keyes will be the company's first nonfamily member to hold the title of CEO.

Midwest supermarket chain Meijer has announced that Rick Keyes will also hold the title of CEO, just one year after he was named president of the company. Keyes started his career 27 years ago as a pharmacist at Meijer and had been executive vice president of supply chain and manufacturing since 2006. This will be the company's first non-family member to hold the title of CEO. (MLive)
