Meijer adds Hannaford vet as SVP of foods

Meijer appointed Tod Pepin, a 30-year grocery retail veteran, as senior VP of foods.

Pepin has spent his career at Hannaford Bros. Supermarkets, where he started as a store team member. He worked his way up to VP of center store merchandising and then VP of fresh foods merchandising in the early 2000s.

Also at Hannaford, Pepin served as senior VP of supply chain for nearly two years and senior VP of merchandising for three years. Most recently, he was senior VP of center store merchandising, private brands and business planning for Delhaize America, the parent company of Hannaford.

"We are extremely pleased to have a leader like Tod join our organization," said Peter Whitsett, Meijer's exec-VP of merchandising. "His successful career within a family-owned business will make him a great cultural fit at Meijer, while his years of experience in key categories such as grocery and fresh will allow him to make a positive impact very quickly within our organization."

Meijer also recently promoted an internal executive, Rick Keyes, to president after former Meijer president J.K. Symancyk left the company to lead Academy Sports + Outdoors. Story
