Macy's supports 550 parks nationwide with 'Heart Your Park' campaign

Macy's (NYSE: M) is thinking green with a new campaign to improve 550 parks and community gardens across the U.S. The retailer has partnered with the National Recreation and Park Association for its "Heart Your Park" campaign which will run Mar. 7 through Mar. 31.

Macy's shoppers can support the fundraiser by donating $1 or more at the register during their purchase, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting various parks. Macy's will match the total customer donation across all stores, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000 in total. Donations will go toward making park improvements, such as maintaining trails, playgrounds and ball fields.

The Heart Your Park initiative is part of Macy's "Secret Garden" spring campaign which features garden-inspired merchandise, special promotions and events.
