Lowe's joins organization to improve smart home technology

Lowe's is the newest member of the ZigBee Alliance, a nonprofit organization that helps define standards for the Internet of Things. In 2012, the home improvement store launched Iris, its smart home solution that controls in-home devices from anywhere using a computer, smartphone or tablet. By joining ZigBee, Lowe's hopes to help educate consumers on the usage and expanding array of smart home technology products. Story
