Kroger names successor to VP of corporate affairs Lynn Marmer

Kroger found a successor to Lynn Marmer, the long-time VP of corporate affairs and first female corporate officer at Kroger, who announced her retirement in July. Jessica Adelman will become Kroger's new group VP of corporate affairs, effective Nov. 1.

Adelman joins Kroger after eight years at Syngenta North America, an agriculture company, as senior VP and head of corporate affairs. She was oversaw corporate brand, government affairs, media relations, crisis and issues communications, litigation communications, internal communications, employee engagement, and corporate responsibility.

Prior to Syngenta, she was director of business development at Cargill Government Solutions and has held other strategic leadership positions.

"Jessica brings a wealth of public affairs leadership experience and deep knowledge of the food supply chain," said Rodney McMullen, Kroger's chairman and CEO. "We look forward to welcoming her to our senior leadership team."

As VP of corporate affairs at Kroger, Adelman will be responsible for reputation management; external communications and brand public relations; media; government and regulatory affairs; corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability; community relations; crisis management; cause-marketing and corporate philanthropy.
