Kohl's (NYSE:KSS) unveiled a new fashion showroom last week at 1400 Broadway in New York. Sharing a location with the retailer's design offices, the space will be used to spotlight Kohl's private and exclusive brands through press previews and parties.
The space is designed with white laminate cement floors, and directed spotlights and natural light will serve as a backdrop for merchandise, reported Women's Wear Daily. The new showroom occupies 4,000 sq. ft., and the design office is 100,000 sq. ft.
"It made a whole lot of sense to invest in a space inside our home so we can share our story," Michelle Gass, Kohl's chief merchandising and customer officer, told Women's Wear Daily.
Kohl's is no stranger to designer partnerships, having long featured exclusive lines from the likes of Milly, Thakoon, Vera Wang and, more recently, Reed Krakoff.
Kohl's is preparing to relaunch Sonoma in March, the store's largest private brand. It includes women's, men's, children's, accessories, home, and bed and bath products. It originally launched as a denim line in 1994 and now reflects Kohl's modern initiative.
The company is also launching 12 Fila outlets and Off-Aisle, its off-price format.
