IoT showroom b8ta partners with The Stable

B8ta, the Palo Alto, California-based retail startup focused on the Internet of Things, has partnered with The Stable, a Minneapolis-based agency that represents and brokers retail deals on behalf of many brands within the IoT category.

B8ta will showcase IoT products that are represented by The Stable.

From June 15 through August 15, b8ta will display two of The Stable's brand partners, Aumi and Emberlight. Two new brand partners will be featured every two months through the end of 2016 and will range from startups to more well-established names in the IoT category, according to the company.

"We wanted to provide our brand partners with a platform to help tell their story at retail," said Chad Hetherington, CEO of The Stable. "We have been huge fans of b8ta since the day they opened and had no choice but to find a way to partner with them in a really interesting way."

B8ta was developed by four alumni of Nest, an early entry into the IoT market that was acquired by Google. Its founders call b8ta the first brick-and-mortar retailer dedicated to IoT.

Other retailers are developing IoT departments to showcase the products. Most recently Target expanded its Open House test concept to a single store in Minnesota.
