Instagram tops Twitter for mobile use

Facebook-owned Instagram now has more U.S. smartphone users than Twitter, according to new estimates from eMarketer. Obviously, retailers need to know which mobile platforms shoppers are using in order to better target their mobile advertising and m-commerce initiatives.

EMarketer's analysis revealed that 30.8 million Americans used Twitter on their smartphones last year and that number will rise to 37.3 million this year. Meanwhile, Instagram had 34.6 million users last year and will hit 40.5 million this year. Story
