HSN, Inc. adds Target vet as president of TravelSmith brand

HSN, Inc. tapped Michael Alexin as president of its men's and women's travel lifestyle brand TravelSmith, a division of Cornerstone. He joins HSNi with executive merchandising and product design background at Target, Eddie Bauer, Nike and Levi Strauss & Co.

Alexin will have full responsibility of operating TravelSmith beginning Aug. 31, reporting to Jeff Kuster, president of the Cornerstone division of HSNi. He will lead the development and executution of a strategic plan to increase awareness and attraction to the brand.

"We are very fortunate to have someone with Michael's track record of accomplishment take the leadership reins at TravelSmith," Kuster said. "We are confident that his years in senior management positions at some of the world's most esteemed retail and apparel brands will help him succeed in his new role here."

For 12 years, Alexin was VP and general merchandise manager of product design and development at Target. He built the processes of the department and the team from its origin.

He was also senior VP of product development and design for Eddie Bauer; global director of apparel merchandising for Nike; and director of design and product development at Levi Strauss & Co., Dockers Menswear division.

Alexin's career started with Koret of California, a San Francisco-based women's fashion retailer, where he worked for nine years.
