Home Depot hosts spring Cyber Week

Home Depot is trying to create a shopping frenzy to match holiday fervor in honor of the busy spring selling season. Kicking off Cyber Week on Sunday, the promotions will mimic the online deals the home improvement retailer offered in the days following Thanksgiving. Last year Home Depot launched Spring Black Friday, which ranked as one of the retailer's busiest shopping days of the year. Although some retailers complain that the buzzwords "Black Friday" and "Cyber Week" are becoming overused, Home Depot says the verbiage is working and netted $500 million in sales on the day after Thanksgiving last year.
