Happy 40th birthday barcode

It was a 10-pack of Wrigley's gum – in a Marsh Supermarket in Troy, Ohio – that was scanned and purchased for the first time using a Universal Product Code (UPC) barcode. Now, 40 years later, barcodes are used five billion times a day by retailers.
