Gordmans Stores (NASDAQ:GMAN), the Omaha-based retailer of apparel and home decor, has named Andrew Hall president and CEO, effective Aug. 19. Hall will also be joining the board of directors.
Hall has more than 20 years of retail leadership experience. He will succeed T. Scott King, Gordmans' chairman of the board who has been serving as interim president and CEO since March.
Before joining Gordmans, Hall acted as president and CEO of Stage Stores from 2008 to 2012. From 2006 to 2008 he acted as Stage Stores' president and COO, overseeing the operations of 849 apparel and accessories stores in 30 states.
"Andy brings deep knowledge and expertise in the department store and everyday low price categories," King said. "He has a strong operational and financial background with a proven record of leading high-caliber teams. He is uniquely qualified to lead Gordmans' strategic omnichannel expansion."
The company's former CEO, Jeff Gordman, tendered his resignation with the company's board in late March. Gordman reportedly retired to spend more time with his family and pursue outside interests. His great grandfather, Dan Gordman, founded the company in 1936. Press Release
