Is Google Glass ready for the mass market?

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) hosted a one-day sale, making the still-in-beta product available to the public for $1,500. As FierceMobileRetail's sister publication FierceRetail reported, Google sold out of the white, or "cotton" colored, Glass in mere hours and filled up all available spots in its "explorer" program of testers.

More importantly, Google announced a partnership with Luxottica to design and distribute new eyewear and developed a virtual fitting room with Luxottica owned Sunglass Hut. Story
