Five Below opens in Miami

Five Below (NASDAQ:FIVE), the extreme-value retailer for kids and teens, held a grand opening for a new location in Miami on March 4, its first store in that market.

"Entering Miami is an important step as we continue to expand our rapidly growing footprint in Florida," said Joel Anderson, CEO of Five Below. "This new store is another great addition to our 14 Florida stores. We anticipate opening an additional 100-plus stores in this great state."

Five Below hosted a weekend-long party with giveaways and deals.

The retailer is carving out a niche with teen shoppers as a fast-fashion retailer that goes beyond apparel and accessories. Five Below offers products at extreme-value pricing in home, technology, crafts, party goods and even candy—all priced at $5 or less.

The Philadelphia-based company opened its largest store in September in its hometown and plans to add roughly 85 new stores this year.
