EBay has appointed three new executives to CEO-designee David Wenig's leadership team ahead of the impending eBay, PayPal split. Harry Lawton (right) will become head of eBay North America, Marie Huber will become eBay's general counsel and Scott Cutler will lead StubHub.
Lawton comes to eBay from Home Depot, where he was senior VP of merchandising since 2013. He has also held positions at Home Depot such as senior VP and president of online business, VP of merchandising finance and director of corporate strategy. Huber joins the company from Agilent Technologies, where she held the role of senior VP, general counsel and secretary since 2009, and was VP, assistant general counsel and assistant secretary from 2000 to 2009. Finally, Cutler previously served as Executive VP, head of global listings for the New York Stock Exchange, before which he held several leadership positons at investment firms specializing in technology.
"I am extremely pleased to welcome Hal, Marie and Scott to the eBay leadership team," Wenig said in a statement. "Hal is a global commerce expert, Marie is a top public company general counsel, and Scott is an expert in financial services and technology solutions. As we prepare to launch the new eBay, they add strong breadth and depth to my leadership team."
EBay and PayPal's split into two independent publicly traded companies is scheduled for the second half of this year. The move was officially announced last September, and this year the company cut its work force and began making leadership changes in preparation. Press release
