Ebay Expands Same-Day Delivery Service To Dallas

For Dallas-area customers looking for convenient last-minute holiday shopping options, they can now turn to eBay (Nasdaq:EBAY) for same-day delivery service. The online retailer announced that it is expanding its eBay Now program to Dallas and will begin offering one-hour package drop-off to the doorsteps of customers starting this week.

Orders placed through eBay Now in Dallas will be handled by third-party courier companies through Shutl, a London-based same-day delivery startup that eBay recently acquired to help expand its own delivery service to other markets.

Customers can choose from hundreds of retailers when placing their eBay Now orders, including Macy's, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Urban Outfitters, Home Depot, Free People and Office Depot. Customers typically pay a $5 delivery fee, but for the crucial holiday shopping season, the fee will be waived until Christmas Eve.

The eBay Now service is currently available only in a handful of markets, including Chicago, New York, San Jose and San Francisco, where the program launched in 2012. Next year, cities such as London will receive the service, bringing the total to 25.
