E-commerce, catalog home furnishing retailer to expand into 10 stores

Home furnishings catalog and e-commerce store Wisteria plans to open at least 10 locations over the next few years. The company will open two stores every year for the next five years, planning to open first in Houston.

Alhough the catalog and e-commerce business opened 15 years ago, Wisteria just opened its first physical store in Dallas five years ago, Dallas News reported. The retailer quickly learned that customers like to be able to see and touch the furniture.

The first two new stores will open this fall, one replacing the current location in Dallas. The new showroom will open in late October and span 7,000 sq. ft.

The second store will serve as an outlet to host Wisteria's three-day sales. The outlet will span 15,000 sq. ft. and be clustered near several other furniture stores. The outlet is planned to open in November.

Wisteria joins other e-commerce retailers— like Warby Parker and Bonobos—that are expanding their physical store presence after successful initial tests.
