Dollar General expands board of directors

Dollar General announced a new addition to its board of directors on Aug. 13 with the appointment of Paula Price, senior lecturer at Harvard Business School.

Price's election will bring the total number of Dollar General's directors to eight. Price, who has been designated an audit committee financial expert, will serve on the audit committee of Dollar General's board.

Price has been a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School in the accounting and management unit since July. She was executive VP and CFO of Ahold USA before that from May 2009 until January. She has held numerous other executive positions at companies such as CVS Caremark and JPMorgan Chase. She has also held senior management positions in financial services and the consumer packaged goods industries.

Price currently acts as director of Accenture and Western Digital. She is a certified public accountant and previously acted as director of Charming Shoppes, Inc.
