Dollar General exec Jeff Owen returns

A former Dollar General executive, Jeff Owen, rejoined the company as exec-VP of store operations, replacing Greg Sparks, who is leaving the company. Owen spent more than 20 years at Dollar General and was most recently senior VP of store operations.

"Jeff's experience at Dollar General brings unique perspectives and insights to our store operations team," said Todd Vasos, Dollar General's CEO. "We look forward to welcoming him back to Dollar General and his contributions in this critical role as we execute our new store growth."

Owen started at Dollar General in 1992, first serving as a store manager. He worked his way up through the ranks, from senior director of operations process improvement, retail division manager and VP, division manager.

From August 2011 to July 2014, Owen served as senior VP of store operations, during which he lead store operations for 5,000 stores and 40,000 employees. Press Release
