A recent report entitled "Clowning Around with Charity," looks at the charity of McDonald's and has concluded that it is not very generous at all. Despite the ongoing publicity McDonald's receives because of the Ronald McDonald House Charities' name, the fast food chain donates on average only 20 percent of the RMHC revenue. In 2011, McDonald's donated $34 million in cash and in-kind donations (including food donations and volunteer hours donated by employees) to RMHC and other charities. That is only .08 percent of their $5.5 billion net income, far less than some of its competitors. Story.
