Displaydata names new VP of sales and marketing

Displaydata has announced Martin Smethurst will join the digital display solution company as senior VP of global sales and marketing. He has more than 20 years of experience advising retailers on driving transformation, productivity and sustainable growth. In his role at Displaydata he will be responsible for the sales and marketing teams and furthering global growth.

"Martin comes to Displaydata with a wealth of retail technology knowledge. He believes the convergence of the internet, mobility and the store in retail creates enormous opportunities to gain competitive advantage, themes that align with Displaydata's solutions," said CEO Andrew Dark in a statement. "Martin is a passionate advocate of new technology and innovation as a means to change the way retailers engage with customers, thus forever affecting the way customers shop. Before joining Displaydata, Smethurst was the managing director for Wincor Nixdorf, and a member of the board where he helped the European retail leadership team drive the U.K and Ireland business to profitable growth. He has also acted as head of retail for Cisco and as sales and marketing director for MicroStrategy, IntelliQ and Stellent (now Oracle). Press release
